🌟 Thrive Thursday Staff Spotlight 🌟
This Thrive Thursday, we're celebrating someone whose voice is not just heard, but felt. Meet Gregory Mallory from Organ Mountain High School—a true powerhouse in education and leadership!
As a media educator, HOSA advisor, NMACTE Board member, and coach of both football and track, Mr. Mallory wears many hats, and he wears them all with passion and dedication.
But it's not just his incredible roles that make him stand out—it's his unwavering commitment to inspiring others.
Every morning, Greg starts the day with his “Morning Motivation with Mallory” videos, delivering the perfect dose of positivity to help us all thrive.
Today, we honor Mr. Mallory not just for his impact in the classroom or on the field, but for being a true role model who brings out the best in others. Recently, he had the honor of emceeing the 2025 NM Special Olympics Play Unified basketball game at OMHS—showcasing the power of teamwork, unity, and diversity.
Thank you, Mr. Mallory, for lighting the way and inspiring everyone around you to be their best! #ThriveThursday #StaffSpotlight #Inspiration #Leadership #Teamwork #Empowerment

This week, we are proud to introduce you to two twinning members of the Jornada Elementary School family, Maggie Rodriguez (left) and Carmela Olivas. Maggie is the finance secretary at Jornada and joined the staff full-time three years ago after working for LCPS as a substitute teacher. Carmela is the registrar and has been with Jornada for her entire career with LCPS, almost nine years!
"The best part of my day is having fun with our students," said Maggie. "I enjoy making sure they have everything they need, and if they don't, I am happy to figure it out to ensure they have a thriving, successful day."
Carmela's favorite part of the job is being part of the Jornada community and working as a team. She often reminds herself that working in public education doesn't mean "having" to do things. "We get to do these things," said Carmela. "It's an honor to be able to serve our students."
Thank you, Maggie and Carmela, for all you do to help Las Cruces Public Schools be the place where all learners thrive!

As we recognize Black History Month, we honor the incredible contributions of African Americans who have shaped our nation's history. Today, we honor the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a leader whose courage and vision changed the world.
Through his commitment to justice, equality, and nonviolence, Dr. King led the Civil Rights Movement and inspired generations to work toward a more inclusive society.
His iconic "I Have a Dream" speech remains a powerful reminder of the importance of unity and the ongoing fight for freedom and equality for all.
